SISD launches scholarship programme for gifted Grade 11 students

DUBAI: Swiss International School Dubai (SISD), a leading bilingual IB curriculum school and one of the only boarding schools in the UAE, is now offering scholarships for deserving Grade 11 pupils.

The scheme offers up to 50 percent day school fees, in alignment with the school’s inclusivity and togetherness values, and to assist gifted pupils in fulfilling their potential.

The KHDA recently announced a general school fee increase of 2.6 percent, with some schools seeing a fee increase of 5.2 percent. This means education in the UAE is becoming even more expensive for families, making scholarships – and access to them – more important.

As Principal Ruth Burke says: “At SISD, we understand the importance of making quality education accessible to all aspiring learners. That’s why we’re proud to announce our Grade 11 International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) Scholarship, offering up to 50 percent off day fees for deserving students.”

The IBDP Scholarship – available to students studying the IBDP Programme – not only provides financial assistance, but also opens the doors to a world-class education, unparalleled learning experiences, and endless possibilities for personal and academic growth.

Whether students aspire to pursue a career in STEM, humanities, business, or the arts, SISD is committed to nurturing talent and empowering pupils to reach their true potential.

By covering a significant portion of tuition fees, scholarships ensure deserving students can access top education regardless of their financial circumstances.

And earning an academic scholarship is not just about financial assistance, it’s testament to a student’s academic prowess and dedication. In Dubai’s competitive educational landscape, being awarded a scholarship is a recognition of merit and hard work. This recognition serves as a powerful motivator, encouraging students to continue striving for excellence and setting higher academic goals.

An SISD scholarship comes with myriad additional benefits, including access to extracurricular activities, leadership programmes, world-class sporting facilities and cultural exchanges. These opportunities allow holistic development, nurturing well-rounded individuals equipped with the skills and experiences needed to thrive in today’s globalised world.

Principal Burke continues: “Perhaps the most significant benefit of academic scholarships is the transformative impact they have on students’ lives. By investing in education, scholarships pave the way for a brighter future, not just for the individual recipients but for their families and communities as well. Empowered with knowledge and opportunity, scholarship recipients become agents of change, driving innovation and progress in their respective fields.”
