Sharjah: Smart, the innovative sustainable-mobility brand presented by AW Rostamani Group, proudly partnered with the American University of Sharjah (AUS) as the official mobility partner for the ‘Get Active for Education’ initiative, held from April 8–10, 2025. The three-day event combined fitness, philanthropy, and forward-thinking transportation to raise funds for AUS’s scholarship program—empowering students of determination and those facing financial challenges.
A highlight of the initiative was the 2K walkathon, where smart pledged AED 100 for each of the first 100 participants to complete the walk. The effort resulted in a direct contribution of AED 10,000 to the AUS scholarship fund, reinforcing the company’s commitment to education and inclusivity.
More than 500 students, faculty members, and corporate participants engaged in spirited semi-finals and finals of the Corporate and Student Games. The event fostered teamwork, encouraged healthy lifestyles, and promoted a strong sense of community engagement on campus.
In parallel, attendees had the opportunity to experience smart’s state-of-the-art electric vehicles through on-site test drives. These demonstrations reinforced the brand’s leadership in sustainable transport and its alignment with the UAE’s Energy Strategy 2050, which aims to triple renewable energy contributions and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

“Our collaboration with AUS on Get Active for Education exemplifies smart’s vision to lead with purpose,” said Roberto Colucci, Director of Electric Vehicles at AW Rostamani Group. “By combining physical activity with a scholarship drive, we’re not only promoting electric mobility but also investing in students who are shaping the UAE’s future.”
At the event’s conclusion, AUS honored smart with a commemorative plaque, recognizing the brand’s role in promoting accessible education and environmental responsibility. The accolade underscores the value of partnerships between academic institutions and purpose-driven industry leaders.
“Get Active for Education” successfully showcased how sustainability, innovation, and social impact can intersect to create lasting change. Looking ahead, smart and AUS plan to expand their collaboration—launching new initiatives that continue to advance mobility, equity, and opportunity across the region.
