Swat: In a commendable move, Swat District Police Officer (DPO) Shafiullah Gandapur has issued a directive to all police officers in the district to salute and honor teachers as a gesture of respect and appreciation.
The order, effective from Monday, underscores the pivotal role of teachers in society and the overall development of the country, as reported by Geo News. DPO Gandapur emphasized that teachers hold a revered status similar to spiritual fathers in Islamic teachings, and showing disrespect could impede personal progress.
According to the directive, all police officers, from constables to senior ranks, are instructed to prioritize and show respect to any teacher visiting a police station, checkpoint, or check post. The officers are further mandated to promptly address and resolve any issues faced by teachers in accordance with the law.

DPO Gandapur also advised a considerate approach in dealing with teachers on the road. In the case of minor mistakes, officers are urged to issue polite warnings and let them go with respect.
The protocol initiated by the DPO has already been put into action, with police personnel and officers actively implementing the directive across the district.
