Melbourne: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the match officials for the T20 World Cup 2022 final.
In addition to the umpire Maurice Erasmus, who is famous for his controversial decisions, Kumar Dharmasena will perform the duties of the on-field umpire for the T20 World Cup final between Pakistan and England to be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
In the final of the mega event on Sunday, Chris Gaffney will be the third and Paul Riffle the fourth umpire while Ranjan Madhugale will be the match referee.
Earlier, in the first semi-final match against Pakistan and New Zealand, the umpire from South Africa, Maurice Erasmus, was entrusted with the responsibilities of the on-field umpire.
It should be remembered that the elite umpire of ICC came under criticism for giving a controversial no-ball against the Bengal Tigers in the India-Bangladesh match, while many former cricketers criticized him for giving the no-ball signal to Virat Kohli during the India-Pakistan match. He took them blindfolded.
