Taylor Swift has broken her silence following her mention in Justin Baldoni’s $400 million lawsuit against Blake Lively. The suit alleges that Lively enlisted Swift to pressure Baldoni into accepting script changes for the film It Ends With Us, where Baldoni stars and serves as a producer.
According to court documents, Baldoni claims that during a meeting to discuss the script rewrite, Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, praised her version. The documents state that as the meeting concluded, a well-known friend of the couple entered the room and also commended the revised script. Baldoni interpreted this as subtle pressure to accept Lively’s direction.
Baldoni later texted Lively, expressing that he appreciated her script revisions but felt unnecessary pressure from Reynolds and their famous friend, Swift.
Swift’s Response
A source close to Swift has refuted the claims, stating that Swift’s involvement in the project was limited to her music being featured in the film. “Taylor is proud of the film because her music was featured in it, which gave her a sense of involvement, though she wasn’t fully aware of the extent of the project’s developments,” the source told DailyMail.
The insider emphasized that Swift’s relationship with Lively is purely a friendship and that she had no intention of influencing or controlling the project. “She finds Justin’s interpretation of the encounter perplexing, and those close to her suspect she’s being drawn into the situation as a means to target Blake,” they added.
The source also mentioned that Swift had never met Baldoni before the incident and was simply being polite during their encounter.
