The Generous Emirates Draw Winners Put their Windfalls to a Greater Good

  • Three participants generously put others before themselves
  • Money will be invested in the future rather than used for material goods
  • The inspirational tales tie perfectly to Emirates Draw’s mission of giving back

Dubai, UAE 12th August 2022: While some people dream of splashing an Emirates Draw win on things such as fancy clothes, expensive gadgets, and picturesque holidays, three recent winners have a different outlook. UAE residents Jacob Avis, Amirah William and Behrouz Parsaei Jam, are selfless with their winnings and helping others instead.

Jacob Avis, a widower, and father of three daughters, couldn’t believe his luck when he received the email confirming his AED 77,777 win and initially thought it was a scam. The 53-year-old said, “I lost my wife to cancer four and a half years ago, and now I’m doing whatever I can to support my three daughters as a single parent.” Avis continued, “Words cannot express my joy, and it will surely help cover part of the university cost for my children.”

The founder of the Stray Dogs Center, Angels, in Umm Al Quwain, 53-year-old Amirah William, had a similar charitable approach. You might recognize William’s name from the viral story of her helping to rescue an abandoned husky on a balcony in Dubai recently. Amira did confirm that the Husky is heading to royal life. The generosity doesn’t stop there, as the New Zealand expat puts her winnings into her non-profit business. A move that will prolong the life and happiness of the pets she and her team so kindly rescue across the UAE.

William recalls the moment she discovered her windfall, “I applied for the draw online and I was completely shocked when I saw that I won. I previously won small prizes here and there, but I never really expected to win this AED 77,777 amount.”

Iranian 49-year-old Behrouz Parsaei Jam has a slightly different take on his win. The father of two explains, “I was happy, but it was not what I was expecting. I was hoping that I would win the AED 100 million grand prize!”

A regular player of the Emirates Draw since its launch in 2021, Parsaei Jam has his eyes on the Grand Prize so his family can live comfortably and without having to worry about money ever again. He confirms, “Of course, I am grateful that I won, but I will keep trying until I will eventually win the ultimate prize.”

It has been 11 months since the socially responsible organization distributed over AED 33 million to more than 23,500 participants. The total prizes include the one-of-a-kind AED 7 prize category, which allows nearly 10% of all participants to become instant winners by only matching the first number from the right. The AED 100 Million Grand Prize, the largest in the region, remains up for grabs to be claimed by a single person or group of people who match all seven numbers from right to left.

The next Emirates Draw will be broadcast live on 14th August 2022, at 9 pm UAE time.

How to play?

Entrants can choose to participate in the weekly draw by purchasing an AED 50 pencil, part of which goes to support the environment through the planting of coral polyps along the coast of the UAE and as part of Emirates Draw’s leading corporate social responsibility programme to support the UAE government’s vision. After registering online at www.emiratesdraw.com or the mobile application, participants can select their seven-digit number or have the system choose their number randomly.

With their purchase, participants are entered into two separate drawings. The first is a raffle draw where seven lucky participants are guaranteed AED 77,777 weekly. In addition, all participants have the choice to be entered into a second draw with seven prize categories that start at AED 7 and include the Grand Prize of AED 100 million when all seven numbers are matched.

The next draw will be live streamed across its digital platforms, YouTube, and Facebook. Be the next lucky winner and book your numbers early! For more information, please call the toll-free number 800-77-777-777.
