The President said that Ishaq Dar gave various suggestions regarding import in today’s meeting while I gave suggestions to the Finance Minister regarding energy saving measures.
He said that the new military leadership is serious about staying away from politics. Now all the responsibility falls on politicians, politicians should be serious together to work, problems can be solved by talking to each other. The new Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir is a good man, hopefully he will reduce the mistrust between institutions.
Arif Alvi said that the appointment of the Army Chief for the next three years has been done in a good way. When there was a consultation in Britain on the appointment of the Army Chief, there was no harm in taking advice from the people present here. Consultation is the best if there is a deadlock.
