Threats and negotiations cannot go together, Govt

Lahore: The government ministers have responded to Imran Khan’s offer of talks and said that threats and talks could not go together.

After the (N) League meeting in Lahore, Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Rana Sanaullah, Malik Ahmed Khan and Attaullah Tarr gave a press briefing at the party secretariat in Model Town.

Federal Minister of Railways Khawaja Saad Rafiq said that yesterday Imran Khan threatened to dissolve the assemblies while discussing conditional negotiations. Threats, abuse, and negotiations cannot go together.

Saad Rafiq further said that the current federal government is a coalition government and any decision will be taken in consultation with the allies. In 2018, Shahbaz Sharif presented a compact economy despite rigging. Imran Khan and his colleagues did not take it seriously and made fun of it. But we cooperated with the government in the legislation.

He said that they taunted us with NRO but they were not even able to give NRO. Imran Khan’s era ended with constitutional and democratic change. After that, all the conspiracies of Imran Khan and his facilitators continued to fail.

Saad Rafiq said that he was told that the terms cannot be negotiated. Our allies have serious reservations about negotiating with them and giving them face-savings. We are not afraid of elections, this is what we have done all our life. Assemblies are meant to legislate, not to destroy.

Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that politicians never refuse to negotiate. This is the only politician imposed on the country who has not even shaken hands with the opposition for the entire 4 years.

He said that Imran Khan tried to take the election date by threatening the establishment but failed. They have been working since May 25.

Rana Sanaullah further said that Imran Khan kept asking for history from the third force but did not get the history because he has become apolitical. It is the failure of Imran Khan that he could not bring the sea of people. We found such situations that the country was on the verge of default. We took over the country but were not in a position to give relief to the people.
