Leicester: British-Pakistani TikToker Mehak Bukhari and her mother Nasreen Bukhari were found guilty of double murder in connection with a fatal car crash.
The verdict was handed down at Leicester Crown Court. A three-month trial revealed shocking details that led to the deaths of two young men.
The 21-year-old men, Saqib Hussain and Hashim Ijaz uddin, were killed after Bukhari, 24, and Nasreen, 46, plotted to kill them, the court said.
In February 2022, Saqib allegedly threatened to reveal an affair with Nasreen. Prosecutors said Mehak then used her TikTok account, which has 129,000 followers, to get Saqib to meet her under false pretences.
The victims’ car was chased and forced off the road, leading to the accident that killed the young people.
In addition to the mother-daughter Bukhari duo, Rekhan Karwan and Raees Jamal were also found guilty of murder. Others involved were convicted of manslaughter.
The families of the victims reportedly described Saqib as a “very beloved young man” Hashim Ijazuddin was described as a “caring and kind-hearted” person. The families described the incident as a senseless act that had shattered their lives.
