Islamabad: In Shahdara Islamabad area, a school outing took a devastating turn when a bus carrying 54 people, including students, met with an accident. The incident resulted in the loss of a young teacher’s life, identified as 22-year-old Hania, and left 20 others injured.
The group, consisting of students from Sheikhupura, was on a picnic in Shahdara Islamabad when the unfortunate event occurred. The passengers included 13 teachers and staff members, along with 22 boys and 19 girls from the school.
Swift response from rescue teams led to the injured being taken to hospitals. Thirteen students were admitted to Poly Clinic Hospital, and eight to PIMS hospital.

According to the police, the accident happened as the bus’s engine was running while the driver was outside. The bus started moving downhill, eventually landing in a ditch. Some passengers had already left the bus before the accident.
Initially, there were reports that the bus driver fled the scene, but the driver was later arrested.
