Islamabad: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will be arriving in Pakistan today (Wednesday) for a two-day official visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The Foreign Office confirmed the visit, stating that President Erdogan is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including ministers, senior officials, and business leaders.
During his visit (February 12-13), President Erdogan will co-chair the 7th Session of the Pakistan-Turkiye High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC) with PM Shehbaz. The HLSCC is a key forum that helps strengthen ties between the two countries. At the end of the session, both leaders are expected to sign a joint declaration and several agreements or memorandums of understanding (MoUs). They will also address a joint press conference.
President Erdogan will hold separate meetings with PM Shehbaz and President Asif Ali Zardari. He will also join PM Shehbaz in addressing the Pakistan-Turkiye Business and Investment Forum, which aims to boost trade and investment between the two nations.
Pakistan and Turkiye share a strong, historic relationship. The HLSCC focuses on cooperation in various areas, including trade, energy, defense, education, and health. This visit is expected to further deepen the bond and enhance collaboration between the two countries.
