Two Soldiers Martyred, 12 Terrorists Killed in Operations Across KP and Balochistan: ISPR

At least two Pakistani soldiers embraced martyrdom while 12 terrorists were eliminated in a series of intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted by security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Monday.

According to a statement from the military’s media wing, nine terrorists affiliated with the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) — referred to by officials as “Fitna Al Khwarij”, a group allegedly backed by India — were killed during multiple engagements across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In Lakki Marwat District, security forces launched an IBO following credible intelligence regarding terrorist presence. Troops engaged the suspects effectively, resulting in the elimination of five terrorists.

In a separate IBO in Bannu District, two more terrorists were neutralised, the ISPR confirmed.

Meanwhile, in Mir Ali, North Waziristan, a security forces convoy was ambushed by militants. In the ensuing exchange of fire, two terrorists were killed, while two soldiers—Sepoy Farhad Ali Turi (29) and Lance Naik Sabir Afridi (32)—were martyred after fighting bravely.

“Sanitisation operations are being carried out to eliminate any remaining terrorist threats in the area,” the ISPR stated, reiterating that the sacrifices of Pakistan’s brave soldiers only reinforce the nation’s resolve to root out terrorism, particularly those perpetrated by what the military termed Indian proxies.

In Balochistan, security forces killed at least three terrorists linked to the Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) in two separate encounters.

An IBO was conducted in Gishkur, Awaran District, based on reports of terrorist activity. After a fierce exchange of fire, BLF terrorist Younas was killed, while two others were injured.

In a separate operation in Turbat City, Kech District, two high-profile terrorists — Sabr Ullah and Amjad alias Bichoo — were killed. Both individuals were identified as leaders involved in attacks on law enforcement and the targeted killing of civilians.

“Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the terrorists,” the ISPR added.

The military reaffirmed its commitment to defending the nation against internal and external threats, stating, “Such cowardly acts will not deter Pakistan’s resolve to eradicate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.”
