UAE announces visa amnesty scheme from Sept 1 to Oct 31

Pakistan’s Embassy and Consulate General extending all possible assistance to Pakistani nationals

ABU DHABI: The government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced a visa amnesty scheme from September 1 to October 31 this year.

The UAE has launched the scheme providing a two-month window operation for residents with expired visas to regularise their status or return home without penalties.

The initiative is aimed at those whose residence or tourist visas have expired, allowing them to either legalise their stay or leave the country without incurring fines. UAE authorities have clarified that the scheme does not extend to those who entered the UAE illegally. Those eligible can adjust their visa status without facing any fees or fines, and those opting to leave the country can do so without a travel ban.

In the wake of this announcement, the Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi and Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai are extending all possible assistance to the Pakistani nationals living in the UAE to ensure that they can benefit fully from the UAE government’s amnesty scheme.

In this regard, the Embassy and Consulate General have taken the following measures:

  1. Extended Office Hours: National Identity Cards (NICs), Passport Sections and attestation services will remain open on Saturdays until the end of October 2024 to accommodate applicants who need to renew, update or validate their documents.
  2. Out-Pass Facilitation: The Out-Pass Sections are available for issuance of out-pass/emergency travel document for those who are Pakistani nationals and do not possess passports to facilitate their travel back to Pakistan.

The Embassy and Consulate General of Pakistan remain fully committed to support fellow Pakistani community members during this period.

We urge all eligible Pakistani nationals to take advantage from this opportunity offered by the UAE government.
