SHARJAH: The 2nd UAE China Tyre & Auto Parts Expo was formally inaugurated at Expo Centre Sharjah on Monday for its second edition.
The first Chinese exhibitors’ delegation, consisting of 130+ Chinese tyre and auto parts manufacturers, since the pandemic, arrived in the United Arab Emirates last Saturday and attend the expo physically.
The 2nd UAE China Tyre & Auto Parts Expo, which will run until May 31 (Wednesday), hosted the largest Chinese overseas exhibition delegation of 2023.
World-renowned manufacturers including LingLong, HuaSheng, DoubleStar, HaoHua, HaoYu, FangXing, etc are showcasing their latest tyre and auto parts products and technologies along with communicating with the visitors.
The expo received 5,200 visitors from UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Yemen, Iraq, Uganda, Tanzania, Pakistan, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Cameroon, Botswana, Ghana, Iran, Egypt, Kenya, Tunisia, Libya, Morocco, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon on the first day.
As the first tyre and auto parts industry specialised expo in 2023, the exhibits range of UAE China Tyre Auto Parts Expo covers all series tyres and auto parts, aiming to bridge the regional market and the Chinese tyre and auto parts industries.
“After nearly 40 years of friendly exchanges, the two countries have trusted and respected each other and achieved close exchanges at the highest level. Over the past few decades, exchanges between the two countries in the fields of economy, environment, culture, science and technology have made great progress. The relationship between China and UAE has now ushered in a new golden age. Through the joint construction of the “Belt and Road”, the two countries have provided a successful model for international cooperation.” Mr. Li Xuhang, Consul General of Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Dubai, said at the inauguration of the expo.
“I would like to extend my sincere welcome to the delegation on behalf of Sharjah. Relations between the UAE and China are witnessing continuous growth in various sectors and the UAE China Tyre & Auto Parts Expo instantly became an integral part of activities that could boost trade and commerce between the countries. We are encouraging entrepreneurs to ensure they utilise the opportunity to connect with the Chinese manufacturers directly,” said Mr. Saif Mohamed Al-Midfa, Member Sharjah Parliament, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, Chairman of Arab Union for Exhibitions, and Board Member of UFI Paris.
“China is the number one trading partner of UAE, with an annual trade volume growth rate of 24 percent, and cooperation between Shandong and the UAE is an important part of Sino-Arab cooperation. In the year of 2021, trade volume between the two sides was nearly $8.3 billion US dollars, an increase of 71.5 percent year-on-year,” said Guo Minghui, Chief Representative of Shandong Provincial Government Economic and Trade Representative Office in West Asia and Africa.
“Tyre and auto parts industries are advantageous and important industries of China, and also Shandong Province. The exhibition is the platform and window for the deeper and further bilateral cooperation. By this chance, I believe the mutual entrepreneurs will dig out the potential cooperation opportunities, jointly promote economic and business communication, to build up a closer relationship between UAE and China.”
Famous Shandong brands tyre and auto parts companies are exhibiting their advanced products and technology in this event, which consist of 90 percent exhibitors this year. They are coming not only for trading purpose, also for finding the opportunities of long-term development in UAE. Due to its strong and powerful economic radiation to neighbouring countries and regions, UAE attracts more and more Chinese companies to establish their sub companies, offices and warehouses.
With the UAE being the largest logistics hub for China in the Middle East, and more than 60 percent of China’s trade in the region transits through the UAE, the UAE China Tyre & Auto Parts Expo 2023 will be a big attraction for leading auto parts importers and dealers in several countries in the wider region.
Hosted by Shandong Port Overseas Supply Chain (Qingdao) Co., Ltd and Hualun Inter Tech FZCO and organised by Inter Commerce Expo Corporation, the expo is open to visitors from all over the world. It is expected to be a platform for the business people to network with industry peers and explore new business opportunities.
