Vetran Journalist Arshad Sharif shot dead in Kenya

Nairobi: The Inspector General of Kenya Police has said that Pakistani Arshad Sharif was killed by police firing.

He has said in the statement issued on the death of Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif in Kenya that the police had blockaded the area on the report of vehicle theft.

According to the Inspector General of Kenya Police, Pakistani Arshad Sharif was killed by police firing on Muram Road last night, the relevant authorities are investigating the incident.

The Inspector General of Kenya Police has expressed condolences to the family of Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif over the tragic incident.

The Kenyan media said in the morning that Arshad Sharif died due to police firing. According to the media report, the police had said in the initial investigation that Arshad Sharif and the driver of his car had not stopped the car on the request of the police.

Ambassador of Kenya in Pakistan says that the official details of Arshad Sharif’s death will be revealed soon. Speaking to private TV, the ambassador said that he is in touch with the authorities in Nairobi on the incident of Arshad Sharif.
