Wright up of South City Intl. School Cricket Tour of UAE

The invitation rendered to South City International School from Shahabad Altaf of YTCA was beyond expectations. This was gladly & spontaneously accepted by the Principal MR JOHN ANDREW BAGUL, who supported wholeheartedly to take the decision of sending his School Cricket team to UAE well guided by their cricket coach ARUN AGARWAL an Ex Cricketer of Cricket Association of Bengal.

The tour started on a dismal note having lost first two matches of the ongoing Series. The defeat couldn’t be digested by the Coach & immediately had serious & motivational closed door interaction with his players for them to bounce back into the series.
The third match began on a high note but South City took full control of the situation & made his boys look a different bunch of cricketers thereby winning it in the last ball of a cliff hanger against Spartan Cricket Academy. The highlights of their victory came from the blade of Captain Kanav Desai with a defiant knock of 48 runs off 62 balls & a sustainable knock of 38 runs off 49 balls piling a partnership of 97 runs to guide their School team to a thrilling 4 WKTS victory, followed by bundling the last opponents (Metro Cricket Academy) for a paltry 127 runs wherein Ritvik Bardia of South City International School came out shinning with his golden arm for a fiery spell of 3 Overs 9 runs claiming 4 wkts to give them the achievable target for victory. The innings started at a slow pace but gradually took full control of the situation by some defiant knock of 33 runs off 47 balls from batter Atharva Verma holding one end upto the last but one over to surpass the target with 5 balls to spare.

The comeback from the next two matches made them emerge joint Winners in the just Concluded Winter Cup Series 2022 played in Aajman, SHARJAH UAE.

Indeed a memorable tour & the hospitality,comfort & facilities provided by Shahazad Altaf of YTCA UAE was commendable & beyond imagination.
