Geneva: During the international conference held in Geneva for the Pakistani flood victims, international organizations and countries announced to give 10 billion 570 million dollars in aid to Pakistan, which includes 4.2 billion dollars from the Islamic Development Bank and 2 billion dollars from the World Bank.
According to Leading News, the appeal of the United Nations to help the flood victims of Pakistan and the international conference hosted by Pakistan in the city of Geneva, Switzerland, which has several sessions, is going on. The conference is being held under the title “Pakistan that has the capacity to cope with climate change”.
The conference began with a session on providing resources to Pakistan for flood recovery. A special video on flood disaster, damages, relief and rehabilitation in Pakistan was also shown in the conference. Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari thanked the participants of the conference.
Antonio Guterres
The Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, in his address to the conference, said that a large part of Pakistan was affected by the recent floods. A large part was severely damaged.
Antonio Guterres said that he was surprised to see the passion of Pakistanis even in difficult situations, large-scale measures are needed to restore infrastructure, 16.3 billion dollars of aid will be required in a period of 3 years.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in his address informed about the disaster caused by the flood, the plan of restoration.
He said that I thank all the participants for feeling the pain and suffering of the people of Pakistan. Today, we are standing at an important turning point in history. Floods have devastated Pakistan on a large scale, 33 million people have been affected, houses, educational institutions, agricultural sectors have been damaged. Large scale support is required.
Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan will not forget the countries that helped in difficult times, a framework has been prepared for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the flood victims, which requires 16.3 billion dollars, Pakistan will bear fifty percent of the 16 billion dollars itself.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that today the nations of the world have come together to stand in solidarity with Pakistan, most of the areas of Pakistan are still under flood water, 330 million people have been affected by the flood, one out of every 7 people in Pakistan has been affected by the flood.
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto said that the extent of flood damage in Pakistan is very large, while the relief and rehabilitation work is going on in the flood affected areas.
In the conference, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will have bilateral meetings with leaders and important personalities of different countries.
In addition to United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres, French President Emmanuel Macron, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gaarder, European Commission President Ms. Ursula Vander Leyen, Swiss Federal Consul and Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. Ignazio Cassis will address the conference.
Switzerland’s Federal Consul Ignacio Cassis, United Kingdom’s Minister of State for Development Andrew Mitchell, Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiar Sajdov will hold bilateral meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Chairman of China International Cooperation Agency Luzhouhui and President of Islamic Development Bank Dr. Muhammad Al Jasir will also meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Apart from this, Ms. Isabel Coleman, Deputy Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Martin Reiser, Vice President of the World Bank Asia Region, will also meet the Prime Minister.
Islamic Development Bank announced 4.2 billion dollars in aid
In the conference, President of Islamic Development Bank Dr. Muhammad Al Jasir met the Prime Minister. President Islamic Development Bank assured the Prime Minister of full cooperation with Pakistan for the rehabilitation of the flood victims and announced to give 4.2 billion dollars in 3 years for the rehabilitation of the flood victims.
He said that Pakistan is a very important country, the Islamic Development Bank will help the Pakistani brothers and sisters in trouble with all its resources.
The Prime Minister thanked Dr. Muhammad Al-Jasir for his help to the flood victims and cooperation with Pakistan and apprised him of the government’s initiatives to reduce dependence on imported fuel and use renewable energy sources in Pakistan.
The Prime Minister also briefed Muhammad Al Jasir in detail about the government’s 10,000 MW solar project, which will not only enable the government to generate low-cost and environment-friendly electricity, but also reduce the import fuel bill considerably.
The World Bank announced two billion dollars in aid
During the conference, the aid of two billion dollars was announced by the World Bank to minimize the damage and rehabilitation of the flood victims. In this regard, Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb has said that on the appeal of the Prime Minister, the World Bank Asia Region. Vice President Martin Reiser has announced $2 billion.
Assurance of 10.57 billion dollars of aid from international institutions and countries

She said that the European Union gave 93 million dollars, Germany 88 million dollars, China 100 million dollars, Islamic Development Bank 4.2 billion dollars, World Bank 2 billion dollars, Asian Development Bank (ADB) 1.5 billion dollars. , Japan announced 77 million dollars, USAID 100 million dollars, France announced 345 million dollars, the total amount of aid is 8 billion 57 million dollars.
Maryam Aurangzeb, after tweeting eight and a half billion dollars in aid in the first session of the conference, tweeted that Pakistan had received another two billion dollars in the second session of the conference.
