DUBAI: The Sindhi community launched the Sindh Cricket League in a press conference in Dubai with the organisers and team owners attending the event.
The program was moderated by famous host Shaiq Narejo. Members of the Sindhi business community and social workers also attended the conference.
This will be the first edition of the tournament, starting on March 3. As many as six teams – Karachi, Nawabshah, Larkana, Sukkur, Mirpur Khas and Hyderabad – will compete for top honours.
The primary aim of starting the Sindh Cricket League is to provide Sindhi players a chance to come forward and showcase their skills. The organisers are also looking to promote the Sindhi culture and language through the tournament.
Brand Ambassador Ali Gul Mallah was the special guest at the programme. Speaking on the occasion, he said that with the announcement of the league, there’s excitement among the players living in Sindh. He hoped that the Sindhi players will perform well and be noticed.
A song based on the Sindh Cricket League – composed and sung by Najaf Ali and written by Ibrahim Soomro – was also released at the press conference.
Ali Gul Malah was presented a shield while a cake was also cut on the occasion.
Sindhi media representatives Fahad Shaikh, Sarang Sindhi, Saeed Chandio and Ishaq Soomro were thanked for their excellent reporting.
