LAHORE: On Thursday, a Lahore anti-terrorism court (ATC) ordered Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Yasmin Rashid to be placed in judicial remand for 14 days in a case related to comments against state institutions and public unrest following the arrest of PTI Chairman in May.
ATC Judge Abher Gul Khan presided over the hearing regarding Rashid’s case. After the expiration of her three-day physical remand, the police presented her before the court.
Surprisingly, the police did not seek an extension of her physical remand, leading the court to decide on a 14-day judicial remand. Furthermore, the court instructed the police to submit the case file (challan) for the upcoming hearing.
In a separate development, Yasmin Rashid has been granted permission to visit Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital due to health concerns. Her plea was heard by the court on Wednesday, and the written order was issued on Thursday.
