Islamabad: The Army has requested the government to set up a commission to investigate Arshad Sharif’s murder and take legal action against the accusers, the DG ISPR has said. Arshad Sharif was forced to go out.
According to the sources, the GHQ (General Headquarters) of the Pakistan Army has written a letter to the government asking for a detailed investigation into the death of senior journalist Arshad Sharif and also against the accused. Legal action should be taken.
In this context, DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar while talking to private TV has said that a high-level investigation should be conducted into the murder of Arshad Sharif so that those who are making speculations and making accusations should be held accountable. Everyone can get the answer.
DG ISPR said that the speculations and accusations in this matter are unfortunate, not only what happened to them should be investigated there but also who forced them to go out.
He further said that legal action should be taken against those who are making allegations without evidence, the institution is repeatedly accused by name on the basis of some pretext.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to form a judicial commission to investigate the murder of senior journalist Arshad Sharif, in which judges of the High Court will be included.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said in a video statement that the sad incident of our journalist Arshad Sharif in Kenya is highly condemnable and the people are saddened by it. I have decided to conduct a transparent inquiry into this incident by the High Judicial Commission and for this, we will apply for a judge of the Islamabad High Court.
