Pakistan National Day Celebrated in Dubai with Cultural Unity and Diplomatic Grace

Dubai: The Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai hosted a reception to commemorate Pakistan’s National Day, marking the historic passage of the Pakistan Resolution on March 23, 1940. The event was celebrated with traditional spirit and cultural pride, drawing a diverse audience that included members of the diplomatic corps, senior officials from the UAE Government, Emirati nationals, and a large number of Pakistani community members.

The occasion was graced by H.E. Khalid Muhammad Al-Kaabi from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dubai Office, who attended as the Chief Guest. The reception opened with a vibrant cultural performance by schoolchildren dressed in traditional Pakistani and Emirati attire. Their heartfelt renditions of the national anthems of both nations served as a symbolic tribute to the deep and enduring friendship between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.

Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Professor Ahsan Iqbal, and Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s Envoy to the UAE, were also present at the ceremony. In his keynote address, Minister Iqbal reflected on the historical significance of Pakistan Day, honoring the vision of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He presented the Government of Pakistan’s strategic economic roadmap under the Urran Pakistan initiative, which aspires to transform Pakistan into a $1 trillion economy by 2035. He pointed to the country’s demographic strength, strategic location, abundant natural resources, and economic reforms as key drivers of future growth and global relevance.

Consul General Hussain Muhammad, in his address, underscored the foundational values of the Pakistan Resolution and its role in shaping a resilient and forward-looking nation. He invited international partners to explore Pakistan’s vast investment potential in sectors including energy, information technology, agriculture, minerals, and tourism. He also highlighted the enduring ties between Pakistan and the UAE, paying tribute to the leadership and legacy of His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The Consul General expressed deep appreciation for the UAE’s support and acknowledged the contributions of the over 1.7 million-strong Pakistani diaspora in the Emirates, calling them a vital bridge between the two brotherly nations.

A poignant moment in the evening was the presentation of the book “Sheikh Zayed: The Builder of the Nation”, recently launched in Abu Dhabi. Written by Mr. Khan Zaman Saroor, a senior and long-standing member of the Pakistani community in the UAE, the book is a touching tribute to the founding father of the UAE and his lasting legacy.

The National Day celebration also featured a short video montage showcasing rare historical photographs of Pakistani and Emirati leadership, capturing key milestones in a bilateral relationship that has grown steadily since the 1960s.

The reception not only celebrated Pakistan’s national heritage but also reaffirmed the strong bonds of friendship, mutual respect, and collaboration that continue to define the relationship between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.
