GDRFA Dubai reviews workers’ welfare at major construction site

Senior official visits Arab Construction Company project, emphasises wellbeing and safety standards

The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai conducted a field visit to a project site of Arab Construction Company as part of efforts to enhance workers’ welfare and promote a sustainable work environment.

The visit was led by Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director General of GDRFA Dubai and Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs in Dubai.

Officials said the visit is part of an integrated fieldwork framework aimed at monitoring working conditions and directly assessing facilities and services provided to labourers, in line with Dubai’s approach to workforce wellbeing.

During the visit, Obaid Muhair bin Suroor interacted with workers at the site, which employs more than 20,000 individuals, and reviewed facilities including rest areas, a medical clinic, and training rooms focused on occupational health and safety.

He appreciated the workforce for their contributions to Dubai’s development, noting that ongoing construction activity reflects the strength of the emirate’s labour market and continued economic expansion.

The visit also included direct engagement with workers and a group interaction aimed at strengthening communication and recognising their efforts.

Speaking on the occasion, the official said such visits reflect an institutional approach that places people at the centre of priorities, adding that direct engagement helps identify challenges and develop sustainable solutions.

He reiterated that authorities are committed to fostering a comprehensive work environment based on fairness and respect, aligned with Dubai’s vision of becoming a global model in workforce care.

GDRFA Dubai said it will continue similar initiatives and field visits to enhance worker wellbeing and support social stability across the emirate.
