The Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai, Hussain Muhammad, has underscored the importance of overseas Pakistanis as a vital national asset, praising their continued contribution to economic stability through formal remittance channels.
He made these remarks at the launch of Index Exchange’s awareness campaign titled “Ab Ki Baar — Roshan Pakistan Ki Bahaar”.
Speaking at the event, the consul general said remittances sent through legal channels play a significant role in strengthening Pakistan’s economy and supporting sustainable development. He added that the campaign recognises the efforts of the Pakistani diaspora while promoting a vision of a self-reliant and energy-efficient future.
Executive Director Humayun Murad said the initiative aims to encourage higher remittance inflows while promoting renewable energy solutions, particularly solar power, as a long-term answer to Pakistan’s energy challenges.
Trade and Investment Counsellor Ali Zeb Khan highlighted that such initiatives help expand remittance flows and open new avenues for investment, especially in green energy projects critical for economic growth.
Chief Operating Officer Syed Abdul Salam said the campaign reflects a broader vision of combining financial convenience with sustainability, adding that solar energy is increasingly becoming a necessity.
Chief Business Officer Mir Ke Rasool noted that every remittance represents effort and responsibility, and the campaign links these contributions to energy independence through solar solutions.
The event was attended by members of the Pakistani community, including Press Counsellor Saleh Muhammad, along with community leaders and other distinguished guests.
As part of the initiative, customers sending money to Pakistan through Index Exchange will be entered into a raffle draw, offering a chance to install solar panels in their homes.
The campaign aims to connect individual financial contributions with broader national progress, promoting both economic stability and sustainable energy adoption.
