DUBAI: As part of the sea month, Art4you Gallery Dubai held a collective marine art exhibition titled ‘AQUA LIFE – Wonders of the Sea and Underworld’.
The art community in the UAE was excited to see an exhibition of intelligent work that had great worth in the current world. The community profited from this event by becoming more aware of the growing threat posed by substantial climatic variations and the enormous impact these changes had on our seas, which were the primary source of life, as well as marine life.
‘Aqua Life,’ curated by Jesno Jackson, included work by a group of exceptional artists who dived deep into the ocean of their creative minds and souls and translated the concept in their own distinct techniques and genres. The interpretations range from soft waves and lovely, joyous marine animals to flowing abstract seascapes and crystalline beauty. Since the dawn of time, painters have been inspired by the unique nature of sunrises and sunsets, as well as by maritime themes and marine life. Because of its varied moods, tides, ebb and flow, and iridescent, colourful marine life, water has always been a favoured subject for many artists. We hope that the audience was similarly attracted by the broad range of artworks.
Every person on the earth has a duty to contribute in some way to the preservation, maintenance, and improvement of our lovely planet. The goal of Aqua Life was to raise awareness of the precarious equilibrium that exists between humans and the ecosystem, particularly sea life. Man’s disregard for the environment can occasionally tip the scales, leading to disasters of various sizes. Therefore, our message was to celebrate the ocean and be aware of the problems that our lovely world is currently facing.
Aqua Life with a group of 10 international artists created their own story and visions from the sea, oceans all come together under one roof at a promising exhibition hosted by Picasso Gallery, in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. The exhibition was graced by the presence of many VIP guests – H. E. Laila Rahhal El Atfani, Mr. Abdulaziz Ahmad, H.E. Yaqoob Al Ali, Lara Tabet, Roa Al Madani, Mohammed Ali, Zahra Al Darwish, Shiraz Shalwani, Joelle Shams, Latha Palthi, Fatima Hajjaj, Maktoum AlMarzooqi, Hanan Al Nuami, Lene Pieters, Lithuanian Embassy officials and others.
The 10 featured artists were Jurgita Foster – Lithuania, Mesfer – UAE, Dima Albitar – Syria, Nissreen Esaifan – Egypt, Elena Butlo – Ukraine, Zena Yachoui – Lebanon, Reginy Eulenstein – Australia, Anila Krishna Kumar – India, Rafah Abdulrazzak – Syria and Ekaterina Sholomova – Russia.
The event was supported by sustainability partner – The Green Revolution with the ‘Aquatic Plants’ customised based on theme.
