Balochistan govt issues 10-day ultimatum for oil smugglers

Quetta: In a significant development, Jan Achakzai, the Interim Information Minister of Balochistan, has issued a ten-day ultimatum for a decisive crackdown on oil smugglers operating within the province. Speaking to the media in Quetta, the minister reiterated the province’s commitment to eradicating illicit oil trade.

Minister Achakzai firmly stated that if oil smuggling does not halt within the specified ten-day period, the provincial government will initiate the destruction of smuggler boats, sending a clear message of determination against this illegal activity.

Additionally, the minister emphasized the government’s resolve to protect its land from encroachment. Individuals accused of encroaching on state land will face arrest, and their cases will be referred to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for thorough investigation.

To enhance security measures, Achakzai revealed plans to bolster vigilance along the borders of Balochistan with neighboring provinces, Sindh and Punjab, underscoring the government’s commitment to combat smuggling activities and maintain law and order.

In an effort to improve governance, the government is set to implement a comprehensive geo-tagging initiative for all seminaries in Balochistan. This initiative aims to promote transparency and accountability in the functioning of religious institutions within the province.

Achakzai reiterated the government’s unwavering stance against illegal Afghan immigrants, emphasizing that a relentless crackdown will continue. He stressed that action will be taken against immigrants found in possession of fake national identity cards, highlighting the importance of adhering to legal documentation.

Minister Achakzai also pointed out that the federal government has already issued a deadline for illegal immigrants to voluntarily leave the country or face expulsion, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to enforcing immigration laws.

The Balochistan government is poised to take robust and resolute measures to address issues related to smuggling, encroachment, and immigration, demonstrating its commitment to the rule of law and the welfare of its citizens.
