LAHORE: Lahore Police have registered a case against TikToker Rajab Butt and several others following a complaint by a woman alleging assault, intimidation and firing at a private café in the Nawab Town area.
According to the first information report (FIR), the complainant stated that she visited a private café with her friends on July 25, where an altercation allegedly took place between two groups.
The woman alleged that two men and two women started misbehaving with one of her friends, which led to a confrontation. She claimed that the suspects assaulted them, displayed pistols and that one of the accused opened fire during the incident.
In her statement, the complainant accused Rajab Butt of being involved in planning and orchestrating the entire incident.
Police have registered a case against Butt and other suspects and initiated an investigation into the allegations. No arrests have been made and police have not yet issued any official findings regarding the claims.
Earlier, in December 2025, Rajab Butt was allegedly assaulted by a group of lawyers at Karachi’s City Courts while appearing before a sessions court in a case related to allegations of hurting religious sentiments.
The incident occurred after Butt appeared before the court following the expiry of his interim bail. His lawyer claimed that Butt was attacked by several lawyers inside the court premises and condemned the incident, saying that taking the law into one’s own hands damaged the reputation of the legal profession.
Videos circulating on social media showed Butt with a torn shirt while moving through a crowd. Another video showed lawyers chanting slogans in support of the Karachi Bar, with some individuals alleging that the confrontation was linked to Butt’s previous remarks about lawyers.
TikToker Nadeem Mubarak, commonly known as Nani Wala, was also present at the court proceedings. Both influencers had returned to Pakistan from London in December after receiving protective bail from the Islamabad High Court in multiple legal matters.
The religious sentiments case was registered following a complaint under Section 295-A of the Pakistan Penal Code. The complaint alleged that Butt had offended religious sentiments through a December 2024 video in which he was seen offering prayers while music played in the background.
Following criticism, Butt later released a three-part video apology, expressing regret if his actions had unintentionally hurt religious sentiments.
