Lahore: , Punjab Chief Minister Maryam announced the initiation of the “New Era…Clean Lahore” campaign, introducing a comprehensive strategy aimed at elevating the city’s infrastructure and sanitation standards.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif has unveiled plans to revolutionize Lahore into a clean and organized city during a special meeting dedicated to the city’s development.
The ambitious initiative entails extensive construction and repair work on major and minor roads throughout Lahore, with a particular focus on street paving and the installation of tuff tiles.
Furthermore, a substantial effort will be directed towards restoring 222,000 streetlights across the city to enhance visibility and safety for residents.
CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif has set a stringent three-month deadline for the swift execution of this development agenda, underlining her personal commitment to monitoring progress every ten days.
Highlighting the importance of public involvement, she urged citizens to actively support the government’s endeavors in maintaining cleanliness across Lahore.

Addressing water management concerns, CM Maryam instructed the immediate activation of all water filtration plants within Lahore.
Discussions during the meeting also featured the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) presenting a comprehensive plan for drainage and sewerage restoration across nine zones of Lahore.
Crucial aspects such as the sewer master plan and water collection tank construction were thoroughly discussed.
To streamline future initiatives, the Chief Minister directed WASA to present a detailed phased plan for expanding its jurisdiction, constructing water collection tanks, and addressing human resource and machinery requirements accordingly.
The high-profile gathering was attended by key officials, including Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, former Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Azma Zahid Bukhari, Provincial Minister for Local Government and Community Development Zeeshan Rafique, MPA Sania Ashiq, Special Assistant Zeeshan Malik, Chief Secretary, Chairman P&D, Secretary Housing, Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, and other relevant officers.
