ECP Grants Registration to Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party

Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has taken a significant step in the realm of political representation as it registered the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) on Thursday and issued an official notification to that effect.

With this official registration, the IPP gains the right to participate in the upcoming general elections. The ECP meticulously reviewed and accepted all the details and documents submitted by the party’s management, including the results of the intra-party elections. This recognition solidifies the legitimacy of the IPP within the political landscape of Pakistan.

The IPP, which was inaugurated on June 8, 2023, during a press conference held at a local hotel in Lahore, has been steadily gaining ground in the political arena, advocating for its vision and goals.

In a separate development, the ECP is scheduled to review a petition next week that seeks the removal of allegedly “biased” members of the federal cabinet in order to ensure the conduct of neutral and transparent general elections.

According to Dawn.com, Advocate Syed Azizud Din Kaka Khel has submitted the petition, which calls for the removal of caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar and several other cabinet members. The ECP is set to hear the petition on October 10, potentially paving the way for a more equitable electoral process in Pakistan.

These developments mark crucial steps towards shaping the political landscape in Pakistan as the country prepares for the forthcoming general elections. The inclusion of the IPP and the consideration of the petition to remove allegedly biased cabinet members signal a commitment to fostering a fair and democratic electoral environment.
