FBR should collect more taxes in-view of economic situation, Dar

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Ishaq Dar has urged the FBR team to take a position according to the changes from the economic point of view and directed to collect more taxes.

According to the Ministry of Finance, he expressed these views while presiding over the revenue performance of FBR at the FBR headquarters on Wednesday.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Finance Tariq Bajwa, Special Assistant on Revenue Tariq Mehmood Pasha, Chairman FBR, Board members of FBRK and other senior officials of Finance Division attended the meeting.

On this occasion, Chairman FBR Asim Ahmed welcomed the Finance Minister to the FBR and informed about the revenue targets for the months of November and December 2022 and the detailed performance data of the FBR.

He informed the Finance Minister that the FBR had crossed the revenue collection targets till November and expressed hope that the targets would be successfully met in the remaining months of the financial year 2022-23.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar expressed his satisfaction with the performance of FBR and appreciated the efforts of FBR team in achieving the targets. He assured to extend full cooperation to FBR in performing its duties for revenue collection.

The Finance Minister also urged the FBR team to position itself in line with changes from an economic perspective and directed the FBR to increase its efforts to achieve real tax efficiency in the country.
