Federal Objection to Punjab Govt’s JIT in IK attack case

Islamabad: The federal government has raised objections to the JIT being formed to investigate the murderous attack on Chairman PTI Imran Khan in Wazirabad.

The federal government has expressed dissatisfaction with the competence of the JIT being established by the Punjab government under the chairmanship of CCPO Lahore.

The Ministry of Interior has written a letter to the Punjab government to form a joint investigation team, in which it has been asked that the Punjab government should also include representatives of ISI and IB in the joint investigation team. Pregnant police officers should also be included.

The Interior Ministry said that the Punjab government did not include investigative and intelligence agencies in the 5-member JIT. P. Olahor Ghulam Mahmood Dogar is a victim of various controversies.

The post further states that CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mohammad Dogar is not trusted by the public, the JIT established by the Punjab government is not competent to conduct a transparent investigation of such an important case.
