Dubai: The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA Dubai), in collaboration with the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs, organized large-scale community celebrations for the workforce during Eid Al Adha, reflecting efforts to promote inclusion and social cohesion.

According to officials, the initiative reached more than 127,000 beneficiaries through on-ground and digital programmes held over the first and second days of Eid holidays.

Field events alone attracted over 55,000 participants, while an additional 51,000 workers took part in activities conducted across 31 labour accommodations in different areas of Dubai. The digital platform Blue Connect also recorded 21,758 participants, expanding access to virtual celebrations for workers.

The programme included entertainment, cultural and interactive activities, along with prize draws and giveaways totaling 600 prizes. Organisers said the prizes included four cars as grand rewards, alongside other gifts aimed at enhancing the festive experience.

The initiative was implemented with participation from several government bodies, including the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Dubai Civil Defence, and Dubai Customs, along with various private-sector partners.

Officials said the collaboration reflects a coordinated approach to community engagement and workforce welfare in the emirate.

Major General Obaid Muhair Bin Suroor, Deputy Director General of GDRFA Dubai, said the celebrations highlight Dubai’s approach to recognising the contributions of workers and reinforcing their role in the city’s development.

He added that the scale of participation demonstrates the importance of combining physical events with digital platforms to reach a wider audience and enhance quality of life.

Colonel Omar Matar Al Meheiri said the initiative expanded its outreach by integrating labour accommodation events with digital engagement tools, enabling broader participation during Eid celebrations.

Officials said the programme is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen social inclusion and improve quality of life for workers, reflecting Dubai’s commitment to human-centred community development.
