Ghulam Mustafa Shah emerged triumphant as the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, defeating his opponent Junaid Khan. Shah, the joint candidate of allied parties, secured a resounding victory with 197 votes, while Khan, representing the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), garnered 92 votes.
The counting process remained smooth, with only 1 vote being rejected. The event witnessed the presence of eminent political figures, including Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif from the PML-N, Chairman of PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, President of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) Asif Ali Zardari, SIC’s Umar Ayub, Asad Qaisar, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, and Khalid Maqbool Siddique.
