Global Conference for Flood Victims, Premier reached Geneva

Islamabad: Prime Minister arrived in Geneva to host the international conference organized for the rehabilitation of flood victims of Pakistan.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif along with a high level delegation reached Geneva from Islamabad. The delegation includes Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Climate Change Minister Sherry Rehman and Information and Broadcasting Minister Maryam Aurangzeb.

Today, the Prime Minister will host an international conference on partnership in reconstruction and rehabilitation of Pakistan along with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

Pakistan will present the framework for reconstruction and rehabilitation of flood-affected areas at the conference and will emphasize the importance of international cooperation and long-term partnerships to implement it.

The Conference will formally launch the Partnership Document on Reconstruction and Rehabilitation of Flood Affected Areas following a high-level opening session, followed by announcements of partner support.

The Prime Minister and the UN Secretary General will also participate in a joint press stakeout.

The conference will be attended by heads of state and government, ministers and high-level representatives of various countries and international financial institutions, foundations and funds, as well as international development organizations, the private sector, civil society and INGOs.
