Islamabad: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Siraj-ul-Haq has said that the government should present an interest-free budget in the future.
Addressing a seminar on the sanctity of usury and practical measures in Islamabad, he said that Sirajul Haque said that the usury system is a satanic system, against which the American people are also protesting.
Sirajul Haq said that during the meeting of the IMF in America, the American people threw dung in trucks and threw it outside the meeting, the American people called the Sudi system as dung.
He said that interest and non-interest-bearing systems cannot run simultaneously in Pakistan, today’s clear declaration is that the decision of the Federal Sharia Court should be followed, and the government should present a non-interest-bearing budget in the next budget.
Sirajul Haque said that Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on the one hand welcomed the decision to abolish interest, on the other hand State Bank has increased the interest rate, State Bank is the regulator of all banks, they should not allow any bank to operate interest banking system. If the State Bank does not grant the license, the State Bank should give time to the usurious banks to end the non-usurious system or cancel the license.
Siraj-ul-Haq said that people should be told where the loans taken on interest were, if the rulers cannot account for the usurious loans, then their properties should be sold and the money taken back. It is now settled that interest and Pakistan cannot go hand in hand.
He further said that we can bring the people before the Supreme Court for the abolition of usury, the Supreme Court should return the appeals filed by the banks in favor of usury, the finance minister should not talk about the abolition of the usury system but take practical steps.
