Gawadar: Heavy Rainfall has unleashed chaos in Gwadar and its surrounding areas, resulting in the collapse of numerous houses, as reported by the Commissioner of Makran Division on Tuesday night.
In response to the crisis, authorities swiftly initiated measures to ensure the safety of affected residents, with approximately 40 individuals relocated to safer zones. Essential aid including tents, food, and medical supplies are being provided to the displaced victims to alleviate their plight.
The deluge has led to extensive waterlogging on roads throughout Gwadar, causing inconvenience for local inhabitants. Anticipating the severity of the situation, authorities had preemptively banned fishermen from venturing to sea three days prior to the onset of heavy rains.
Prior alerts issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had warned of potential flash floods in Balochistan, citing heavy rainfall and snowfall in districts such as Gwadar, Ketch, Panjgur, and Awaran.

Expressing remorse over the devastation caused by the relentless downpour, the Caretaker Chief Minister of Balochistan directed the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and district administration to coordinate rescue and relief efforts.
Despite the concerted rescue operations, challenges persist due to submerged routes, impeding the movement of emergency response teams. The Chief Minister has instructed the district administration to prioritize the restoration of vital infrastructure, particularly roads, once water levels recede.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, voiced grave concerns regarding the dire situation in Gwadar. He emphasized the urgent need for emergency relief measures and called upon relevant authorities to expedite assistance to affected residents.
Bilawal Bhutto urged the public to unite in support of those impacted by the disaster and urged swift action from authorities to alleviate the suffering of Gwadar’s residents.
