Jordan Dominates FIFA World Cup Qualifier, Defeats Pakistan 3-0

In a highly anticipated FIFA World Cup qualifier showdown, Jordan’s football team delivered a dominating performance, securing a decisive 3-0 victory against Pakistan at Islamabad’s Jinnah Ground.

Despite the national squad’s efforts to elevate their game, they struggled to convert scoring opportunities into goals, ultimately falling short against Jordan’s formidable lineup.

The match witnessed Musa Al-Tamari emerging as a standout player for Jordan, netting two impressive goals, while Ali Olwan contributed with another goal, solidifying their dominance over the green shirts.

Jordan’s recent success in clinching a spot as Asia Cup finalists underscored their formidable prowess on the field, reflecting in their commanding performance against Pakistan.

In Group G of the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers, Saudi Arabia leads the pack, followed by Tajikistan in second place, with Jordan securing the third position. Pakistan, after facing setbacks in earlier matches against Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan, currently occupies the fourth spot in the group standings.

Jordan’s return to Pakistani soil for the qualifier match was marked by a warm reception led by Ambassador Dr. Maen Khreisat, accompanied by embassy members and football federation officials. This gesture symbolized the strengthening of sports diplomacy between Jordan and Pakistan, fostering goodwill and cooperation through the shared passion for football.

Jordan’s football team had previously embarked on a notable tour of Pakistan in 2006, further enhancing the ties between the two nations in the realm of sports. Their return to Pakistani soil for the qualifier match reaffirms the enduring bond and mutual respect between Jordanian and Pakistani football communities.
