Pakistan Navy Seizes Liquor Worth Rs145.6 Million

In a proactive move to combat illicit activities at sea, the Pakistan Navy, in conjunction with law enforcement agencies, executed a joint intelligence-based operation that led to the interception of a substantial cache of liquor in the North Arabian Sea. The operation, coordinated through the Joint Maritime Information and Coordination Centre, saw the collaboration of Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) and Pakistan Customs Intelligence.

According to a statement issued by a navy spokesperson, a total of 4104 bottles of liquor, with an estimated value of Rs145.6 million, were seized during the operation. The successful interception demonstrates the efficacy of coordinated efforts in combating maritime crimes and ensuring the security of Pakistan’s territorial waters.

“The seized liquor has been handed over to Customs for further legal proceedings,” read the statement, emphasizing the adherence to due process in dealing with confiscated goods.

Speaking on the operation, the spokesperson highlighted the challenges posed by criminal elements seeking to exploit maritime routes for unlawful activities. “Despite the prevailing maritime situation, wherein criminals are active for their nefarious designs and leaving no opportunity to defame Pakistan, this joint operation stands as a testament to our resolve to uphold security and combat illegal activities,” the spokesperson stated.

The Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Maritime Security Agency, and Customs Intelligence reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding national interests and maintaining lawful order at sea. “We remain vigilant and dedicated to preventing the misuse of Pakistani waters and land for any unlawful acts,” the spokesperson asserted.

This successful joint operation underscores the collaborative efforts of Pakistan’s maritime forces and law enforcement agencies in ensuring the safety and security of maritime trade routes and upholding the country’s international obligations.
