LAHORE: A sessions court in Lahore has summoned YouTuber and TikToker Rajab Butt and four other suspects on August 18 for the framing of charges in a private complaint filed by social media influencer Ayesha Jutt.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Zafaryab fixed August 18 for framing charges against Butt and the four other suspects and directed all five accused to appear before the court.
The court issued the summons after hearing the private complaint filed by Jutt against the YouTuber and his alleged accomplices.
According to the complaint, Jutt alleged that she was subjected to sexual assault and subsequently blackmailed by the suspects.
She claimed to have evidence supporting her allegations, including WhatsApp conversations, a medical report and her statement recorded before a magistrate under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
The allegations have been denied by the suspects, who have obtained pre-arrest bail from a sessions court.
Prosecution investigation challenged
During the proceedings, the complainant’s side alleged that police had failed to properly investigate the case and had not conducted an adequate probe into the allegations.
The complainant reportedly challenged the police investigation, claiming that the suspects had not been properly investigated in the police challan.
After hearing the arguments, the court summoned Rajab Butt and the four other suspects for formal framing of charges on August 18.
The indictment will allow the trial proceedings to move forward, with the accused expected to respond to the allegations before the court.
Other case against Rajab Butt
The latest proceedings come as Butt faces legal proceedings in several other cases.
Last month, Nawab Town police registered a separate case against Butt and his alleged accomplices following an altercation at a cafe.
According to the complaint, Butt and others allegedly attacked several women and opened fire during the altercation.
The case was also registered on the complaint of the same woman who filed the private complaint alleging sexual assault and blackmail in 2025.
In her July complaint, the woman alleged that Butt attacked her and others at a cafe.
Butt has previously faced legal proceedings in other cases, including allegations relating to hurting religious sentiments, promoting online gambling and physical assault.
The accused have denied the allegations in the cases against them.
