Karachi: According to Air Quality Index, among the most polluted cities in the world, Lahore has been ranked first and Karachi fourth.
According to the index, Lahore ranked first in the list of polluted cities with 210 particulate meters, the amount of polluted particles in the atmosphere of Karachi was recorded at 168 particulate meters, Beijing (China) ranked second among polluted cities with 186 particulate meters, while Delhi (India) ) recorded third place in the list of most polluted cities with 181 particulate meters.
According to the index, the effects of the North-West (Baluchistan) desert winds are still on Karachi, due to which Karachi’s air remains unhealthy and it ranks fourth in the list of polluted cities in the world. The amount of polluted particles in the air of the city was recorded at 168 particulate meters.
According to the classification, pollution from 151 to 200 level is harmful to health, pollution from 201 to 300 level is extremely harmful to health, and more than 301 level indicates dangerous pollution.
