Multan: Lahore Qalandars beat Multan Sultans by 1 run.
In the opening match of the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) played at the Multan Cricket Stadium, Multan Sultans managed to score 174 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in pursuit of 176 runs in the allotted 20 overs.
Captain Muhammad Rizwan scored 75 runs on behalf of Multan Sultans. Shaun Masood 35, David Miller 25 and Kieron Pollard 19 runs.
On behalf of Lahore Qalandars, captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, Hussain Talat and Zaman Khan took 1, 1 wicket each.
Earlier, Lahore Qalandars scored 175 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs while batting first at the invitation of Multan Sultans.
Fakhar Zaman scored 66 runs for Lahore Qalandars. Mirza Tahir Baig scored 32, Hussain Talat scored 20 and Shai Hope scored 19 runs.
Sikandar Raza returned to the pavilion not out after scoring 19 runs.
On behalf of Multan Sultans, Ehsanullah and Osama Mir took 2,2 wickets while Aqeel Hussain and Shahnawaz Durmani took 1,1 wickets.
