Rawalakot: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf has won first place with 229 seats in the local elections of Poonch division in Azad Kashmir.
According to the Election Commission, the results of 708 out of 787 seats have been received, Muslim League-N is second with 129 seats and Pakistan People’s Party is third with 104 seats.
Jammu and Kashmir People’s Party came fourth with 28 seats and Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan came fifth with 7 seats.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference and Jamaat-e-Islami won four seats each while independent candidates bagged 199 seats.
Thus, the ruling coalition won 233 seats while the opposition parties won 276 seats, with 79 seats pending.
Like Muzaffarabad, the mayorship of Rawalkot is also likely to fall to the opposition. PTI will also not be able to make chairman in Khai Gula, Hajira, Abbaspur and Dhirkot municipal committees.
