Gujranwala: 10 people, including Chairman PTI Imran Khan, were injured while a person named Moazzam Gondal was killed in firing during a long march at Old Kachhari Chowk in Wazirabad.
An unknown person was under the container who opened fire, resulting in a stampede. 10 people were injured and one person died in the firing. Who was identified as Muazzam Gondal who belonged to Bharuki Cheema. All the injured were shifted to the hospital and provided medical assistance where their condition is said to be out of danger.
Imran Khan’s march was passing through a road when a person came out of the street and approached the container and opened fire. The PTI workers present at the spot caught the accused and severely tortured him. The police have arrested the attacker and seized the weapon.
The accused fired a full burst targeting Imran Khan. On seeing the assailant, the PTI worker hit the pistol in each hand, causing him to change direction and several people were injured due to bullet injuries in the lower parts of the body.
The security personnel immediately moved Imran Khan to a safe place below inside the container. It was also announced from the container that Imran Khan was shot in the leg.
The security took Imran Khan out of the container and immediately shifted him to Shaukat Khanum Hospital in a bulletproof vehicle for medical assistance. Fawad Chaudhry has said that Senator Faisal Javed, Umar Dar, Ahmed Chatta have also been hit by bullets. He said that this is not the first time when a leader is killed.
