Major General Ali Ghanem inspects Al Rafa’a Police Station

Al Rafa'a Police Station sets the bar with a 1-minute, 9-second average emergency response time in 2022

DUBAI: Major General Ali Ghanem, Director of the General Department of Logistics Support at Dubai Police, emphasised the importance of the Al Rafa’a region — a vital commercial area in Dubai — stressing the need to harness all resources to provide top-quality services for its residents and visitors.

The region boasts significant tourist facilities, diplomatic entities, and consulates, further highlighting its significance.

Major General Ali Ghanem’s remarks came during his inspection of the Al Rafa’a Police Station as part of the annual inspection programme for the general department and police stations. He was accompanied by Brigadier Dr. Adel Al Suwaidi, Director of Jebel Ali Police Station and Chairman of the Directors of Dubai Police Stations Council; Brigadier Dr. Saleh Al Hamrani, Deputy Director of the General Department of Excellence and Pioneering; Brigadier Khaled bin Suleiman, Deputy Director of the Regulatory Office; Colonel Omar bin Hammad, Director of Al Rafa’a Police Station; Lieutenant Colonel Juma Khalfan Al Muhairi, and several other officers.

Strategic KPIs

Major General Ali Ghanem reviewed the strategic indicators of the station, which achieved 98.4 percent security coverage in its jurisdiction. The officer on duty was present at all reported locations 100 percent of the time, with an average response time of 1 minute and 9 seconds for emergency cases.

Major General Ali Ghanem also examined the security programmes implemented by the Al Rafa’a Police Station across its jurisdiction, which contributed to enhanced security and safety in the region.

Traffic Records

Major General Ali Ghanem praised the efforts of the station’s Traffic Records Section for their dedication to ensuring road users’ safety and preserving lives. The police station recorded 120 traffic reports in 2022, compared to 145 in 2021, and conducted seven traffic campaigns in collaboration with the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police. Al Rafa’a police station also carried out 16 campaigns in 2022, confiscating 188 bicycles and electric bikes, compared to 17 campaigns in 2021, with 128 confiscations.

Administrative Initiatives

Major General Ali Ghanem reviewed the administrative initiatives implemented by the Al Rafa’a Police Station for its employees, resulting in a 99.2 percent increase in job happiness. These initiatives included ‘Our Journey is One’, ‘United Home’, ‘Our Joy is One’, ‘Be Right and Know Your Rights’, and others, uplifting 100 percent of the employees.

Achievements

Major General Ali Ghanem was also briefed on the station’s achievements, including zero complaints against employees, the best entity in victim support, first in job satisfaction for five consecutive years among police stations, zero administrative work grievances, zero security breaches in jail, innovative administrative initiatives, and solving security and traffic phenomena.

Customer Happiness

Major General Ali Ghanem reviewed the statistics of the Customer Happiness Center at Al Rafa’a Police Station, with the station processing 5,743 smart transactions in 2022 compared to 2021.

He also commended the efforts of the Victim Support Division at the station, achieving a 100 percent rate in 2022 by communicating with both criminal and traffic victims within seven working days.
