Islamabad: The Election Commission has appointed Mohsin Naqvi as the Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab after considering all the four names proposed by the government and the opposition.
In the announcement issued by the Election Commission, it was said that under Article 224 A3, the important meeting for the appointment of the Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab was held in the Commission and the Commission appointed Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi as the Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab after full deliberation.
According to the Election Commission, it has issued a notification for the appointment of the Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab and in this regard has written a letter to the Governor of Punjab asking him to take the oath of Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi.
It should be noted that the four members, Secretary Election Commission, Special Secretary and DG Law participated in the important meeting presided over by the Chief Election Commissioner while the Secretary Election Commission gave a briefing about the four nominations.
Naveed Cheema and Ahmad Nawaz Sukhira were nominated by the government for the caretaker chief minister of Punjab, while Mohsin Razanqvi and Ahad Cheema were nominated by the opposition.
