Nawaz promises rail service from Islamabad-Murree

Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif has announced a visionary plan to introduce a rail service connecting Islamabad-Murree, showcasing his deep connection to the picturesque valley, which he considers his second home.

Addressing a spirited public rally in Murree, accompanied by his daughter Maryam Nawaz, Sharif commended attendees for braving the cold weather to join the event. Recalling his tenure as Chief Minister of Punjab, he emphasized his commitment to infrastructure development, highlighting the construction of a top-quality road from Rawalpindi to Murree.

Expressing discontent over his removal from power, Sharif questioned the circumstances leading to his ousting, especially when the country was making positive strides. Contrasting the situation during his tenure with the current challenges faced by Pakistan, he underscored the achievements of his previous government, including economic stability and reduced prices of essential commodities like bread and vegetables.

Criticizing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, He pointed out unfulfilled promises made to the nation, such as the construction of millions of homes and the creation of 10 million jobs. Sharif labeled the billion-tree tsunami project as a scam and commented on the resignation of a senior Supreme Court judge, hinting at potential consequences for those involved in his removal from office.

It is to mentioned that the proposed Islamabad-Murree rail service aims to further enhance connectivity and accessibility to the scenic region, potentially becoming a significant development project in the coming years.
