No Talks with TTP Involved in Killing Pakistani, Foreign Citizens: FO

Islamabad: Pakistan has firmly stated its stance against engaging in dialogue with the banned terrorist organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan TTP. The announcement was made by Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch during a weekly news briefing in Islamabad on Thursday.

Baloch reiterated Pakistan’s position, stating, “No talks are possible with elements involved in the killings of Pakistani and foreign citizens inside Pakistan.” The TTP has been implicated in numerous attacks resulting in casualties among both Pakistani nationals and foreigners.

Regarding regional security, Baloch emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to Afghanistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. She called upon Afghan authorities to take decisive action against terrorist groups using Afghan soil as a sanctuary for launching cross-border attacks.

On the domestic front, Baloch highlighted Pakistan’s implementation of the Illegal Foreigners Repatriation Plan (IFRP). “The IFRP is crucial for enforcing Pakistan’s laws,” she affirmed, noting significant progress in repatriating illegal immigrants to their respective countries.

Addressing concerns over Afghan refugees, Baloch clarified that while the Proof of Registration cards for Afghan refugees had been extended for a year, there was no agreement with the UNHCR to suspend the repatriation plan, contrary to recent reports.

Baloch also touched upon Pakistan’s multifaceted partnership with the United States, emphasizing mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs as foundational principles of the relationship.

‘Kashmir Martyrs Day to be observed on July 13’

During the briefing, Baloch reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. She announced that Pakistan would observe the 93rd ‘Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Kashmir’ (Kashmir Martyrs Day) on July 13, commemorating the courage of 22 Kashmiris martyred in Srinagar in 1931.

“We salute their bravery, which sparked a determined movement for Kashmiri rights,” Baloch remarked, condemning Indian occupation forces for ongoing human rights violations in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Baloch concluded by strongly condemning Israel’s recent attacks on schools in Gaza, describing them as part of Israel’s aggressive campaign against the Palestinian people.
