Pakistan and Turkey Army Chiefs Discuss Defense Cooperation

The Chief of the Turkish General Staff, General Metin Gürak, engaged in discussions with Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi, marking a significant step towards bolstering defense ties between Pakistan and Turkey.

In a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting covered a range of topics including defense strategies, training programs, and collaborative efforts aimed at fostering regional peace and stability. Both leaders affirmed the enduring strength of bilateral relations and committed to further enhancing defense cooperation.

Highlighting the importance of advancing military cooperation, COAS General Syed Asim Munir emphasized the need for continued collaboration between the armed forces of Pakistan and Turkey.

General Metin Gürak commended Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and stability, acknowledging the pivotal role played by the Pakistan Army in counter-terrorism endeavors.

Upon his arrival at GHQ, the Turkish military leader paid homage at Yadgar-e-Shuhada by laying a floral wreath, honoring the sacrifices made by Pakistani soldiers. A meticulously presented contingent of the Pakistan Army extended a guard of honor to the distinguished guest, symbolizing the mutual respect and camaraderie between the two nations.

The meeting between the Chiefs of General Staff reaffirmed the commitment of Pakistan and Turkey to deepening their defense cooperation, underscoring their shared dedication to promoting peace and security in the region.
