DUBAI: Pakistan have qualified for the Tent Pegging World Cup in Jordan after winning the five-nation World Cup qualifying competition by a commanding margin.
Teams from Pakistan, Oman, Qatar, the United States and Uzbekistan competed in the qualifier, with Pakistan producing a dominant performance to secure their place in the World Cup.
Pakistan riders also created history by securing all three top positions in the overall individual standings.
Tasawar Abbas finished first overall in the tournament, while Sagheer Zargar secured second position and Nasir Gowance claimed third place.
The achievement marks the first time in the history of tent pegging that riders from the same country have occupied all three top positions in the overall standings.
Pakistan’s strong performance in the qualifier has earned the national team a place in the Tent Pegging World Cup, which will be held in Jordan.
