Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that those who helped Pakistan in the difficult times of floods will always be remembered, we do not want charity but climate justice.
Speaking at the event related to those who played a role in successful climate diplomacy at the Sharm-ul-Sheikh Conference, Shahbaz Sharif said that rains caused a lot of destruction in Pakistan due to climate change, people lost their homes due to floods, crops were destroyed and 33 million people were affected.
The Prime Minister said that the governments of Sindh and Balochistan have fully helped the victims, I thank the countries that helped the flood victims, the assistance given in this hour of difficulty will always be remembered.
He said that this happened for the first time and Pakistan’s voice was heard at the global level. Pakistan does not want charity but climate justice. We pray that what happened to Pakistan should not happen to any other country.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the bitter reality is that what happened in Pakistan will not be limited here, Pakistan has become a victim of something that is not only produced by us, carbon emissions are very high in developed countries. Global measures must be taken to prevent the effects of climate change.
