Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the campaign on social media for the assassination attack on Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir.
In his message, the Prime Minister said that similar thinking was done for May 9 Black Day. Therefore, the planners, facilitators and handlers of May 9 have a clear message that every conspiracy against Pakistan and its institutions will be crushed.
He said that the vile, cynical and malicious media campaign against the army chief and the army is the result of the planning of an evil mind. Conspiratorial minds and elements are again active against political and economic stability in the country. The new media campaign of the dirty media campaigners against the martyrs is part of the same plan.
The Prime Minister has directed the relevant institutions to take legal action against the media campaigners at home and abroad.
He said that the media campaign against the army and its chief does not fall under the category of freedom of expression. It is only a conspiracy which it is a legal duty to prevent with full force.
The Prime Minister said that the nation will foil this heinous conspiracy in the same way as it foiled the conspiracy of civil war in the country on May 9, they will not allow the desperate elements to create a new crisis in the country out of desperation and despair. The nation stands by its army and its leader.
